He was a grandson of Elizabeth Isbell and Jonathan Land. Elizabeth was the daughter of James & Frances Tompkins Livingston Isbell. Thomas C. Land's brother Linville Land made Tom Dula's coffin, on which Tom sat while riding in the wagon on his way to the gallows. Their second cousin Col. James M. Isbell, in the search party looking for Laura Foster, found her body in the shallow grave and also helped track down Tom Dula. His son Rev. Robert Lee Isbell wrote the story in "The World of My Childhood." Tom Dula was a grand-nephew of John Dula who got into a brawl with Col. Thomas Isbell (grandfather of Col. James M. Isbell) on Nov. 28, 1796 during which Dula bit off Tom Isbell's earlobe. There are several videos on Youtube which include Isbells. _________________________________________________________________ Type your favorite song.  Get a customized station.  Try MSN Radio powered by Pandora. http://radio.msn.com/?icid=T002MSN03A07001
