Michael Barre was the brother-in-law of Temple Elliott Isbell Sr. Lettice Livingston Isbell was a sister of Temple Elliott Isbell Sr. Many of the earlier documents involving Temple Elliott Isbell were witnessed by Michael Barre. A letter written by Temple E. Isbell to his son in 1841 mentions his sister Barre and his niece Mary Ann Barre being baptized by Younger Witherspoon (Weatherspoon) in Warren County, Kentucky.
