I've been looking for more siblings of Temple Elliott Isbell Sr. for years. This week I have been working on the descendants of his sister Lettice Livingston Isbell who married Michael Barre. Michael Barre was listed as a witness on many of the documents signed by Temple Elliott Isbell. He was also listed on the Warren County, Kentucky census with Temple Isbell in 1820 and 1830. One of their children was: Matilda Franklin Barre, born December 16, 1816. She married Benjamin T. Johns whom Temple referred to as, "T. Johns" in a letter written while he was visiting Warren County, Kentucky after his move to Jo Daviess County, Illinois. It was during this visit he witnessed his, "sister Barre and niece Mary Ann Barre being put unto the waters by Young(er) Weatherspoon, a baptist preacher...". Matilda died November 17, 1912 in Warren Co., Kentucky. They also had a son named Washington L. Barre, born in June of 1829 and died in 1878 in Warren Co., KY. He married Sirilda (sp) E. Sheets September 20, 1852 in Warren Co., KY and as far as I can tell they only had one child, Alice Barre who never married. I am still working on the several other siblings but wanted to share this much with all on the list. Shane Huff Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
