I received sad news last week from Sharon (Shane) Oxley. She was moving a couple of weeks ago and one of the moving moving vans caught on fire and burned up, a total loss apparently. The insurance woudln't let them go through it, but she said it melted the sides of the van and the back door of the van. That was the moving van with all her genealogy, many years of research and family papers, including her great-great-grandfather's bible. Shane is descended from Benjamin Isbell and Lettice (Hickman) Isbell of Virginia. Benjamin was the son of William Isbell (born circa 1688-98) and wife Rosamund. They are in the book "Americans of Gentle Birth and Their Ancestors" (1903, 1907) by Hannah D. Pittman.
