    2. Ray Isbell
    3. It's my understanding that Discretion Howard Isbell died in 1848, not 1818. Her tombstone must be getting hard to read. She was the daughter of Benjamin Howard and Prudence (Sater), and born 1764. http://www.charlotte.com/mld/observer/news/local/states/north_carolina/counties/catawba/15673162.htm The Charlotte Observer (Charlotte, NC), Oct. 4, 2006: Peace in the Valley by Hannah Mitchell "Off N.C. 268, near the Wilkes County line, you will pass by churches dating as far back as 1875 in curve after curve of the gently winding country roads. Within a few miles of each other, on and around Zacks Fork Road in the Grandin community, there's Grandin Baptist Church, which opened in 1925.... "Grandin Baptist sits atop a hill, surrounded by mountains... " In the cemetery at its side, former members lie in the peace, among them Discretion Isbell, who died in 1818 at age 85."
