Those of you who have taken YDNA or mtdna tests at Ancestry.com know how useful these results can be when linked to your family tree on Ancestry. But you still might want to consider joining the Isbell DNA Project at Family Tree DNA (FTDNA.com. ). So far, the project has proven that the Isbells in America all appear to be related, whether descendants of the Robert the immigrant from England c1634 to New England or the Virginia Isbells c1664-90s or any of the other later ones. The results indicate that the Virginia Isbells may descend from a brother or other close relative of Robert of 1634. Family Tree DNA claims to be "the only company that allows users to transfer their autosomal DNA results from other databases to theirs and discover new matches for FREE!" Their FamilyFinder test is a favorite.
