"Liberty: The Saga of Sycamore Shoals " is a 3-hour outdoor theater production at the Fort Watauga Amphitheater in Elizabethton, Tennessee that was proclaimed the official play of Tennessee in 2009. With a cast and crew of over 200, the play includes the Seviers and Tiptons, of course, as well as Zachariah Isbell Jr. and wife Elizabeth ("Betsy" in the play). I am told that his father Zachariah Isbell Sr. and cousin Capt. Godfrey Isbell are not depicted in the play, although in the real story they would have been there as well. The play runs Thursday, July 23 through Saturday July 25th at 7:30 PM. Dinner theater also available on selected evenings.
