Jedidiah Isbell, age 14, and his skating partner, 10-year-old Catherine Fleming, have been chosen two of only four young skaters of the Boston Skating Club to perform in the opening and closing ceremonies of the International Skating Championship, hosted in Boston for the first time. Jedidiah is called Dia ("Deeya") and is a grandson of the late George Branch Isbell III, descendant of William Isbell and Ann Dillard of Goochland, Virginia. Jedidiah and Catherine won bronze medals in the 2016 U.S. Figure Skating’s national championships. The opening ceremonies of the International Skating Championships is March 31 and is only 30 minutes long. Then the Men's singles short program will occur. Dia is also participating in the closing ceremonies which take place on Sunday April 3rd at 2 pm. The competitions start on Wednesday morning. Not all events will be broadcast on icenetwork but most events will. The most popular events will be broadcast on TV, which include the ladies long program and some others. Anything that is going to be on TV will not be on Icenetwork live, but will be put up on icenetwork a couple of weeks after the competitions are done.
