Does anybody know whether Dr. Raymond E. Isbell, author of a number of religious books, was a son or grandson of Travis Isbell (1902-75) of Tuscumbia, Alabama? I read that Dr. Raymond E. Isbell was baptised at the Spring Valley Church of Christ there, and that's where Travis was a church elder. Travis was the son of Benjamin Birdwell Isbell, son of James H. Isbell (1833-1902), son of James and Elizabeth Birdwell Isbell, my ancestral uncle and aunt of mine.
Dear Ray, Thank you for your message. I don't recall hearing about this man.
