    1. [ISBELL] November 9th Harvest Dinner
    2. Ray via
    3. A traditional Fall Harvest celebration will be held November 9 (4 p.m.) at the farm of Jeff & Kim Isbell, 162 Joyce Rd, Liberty, SC 29657 (18 miles west of Greenville). They are owners of Iszy’s Heirlooms, popular heirloom tomatoes and farm produce. Local musicians Justin Hill and Donnie Blackwell will provide the music. The menu is planned by Spencer Thomson & Jason Scholz, chefs at Stella’s Bistro. Tickets are $65 a person; for information, call 864-757-1212 or visit www.stellasbistro.com . I'm just guessing that Jeff is probably a descendant of Capt. Godfrey Isbell's supposed son Robert Isbell (1775-1836) and wife Sarah Robinson, or else Capt. Pendleton Isbell, since most all the Isbells around Greenville descend from one of those two. Although one of my own first cousin lives there, too, and I know we don't descend from either Godfrey or Pendleton but from their cousin Zachariah Jr. Jeff's picture online sure looks like some of my cousins, though. http://www.greenvilleonline.com/story/entertainment/dining/2014/10/28/stellas-bistro-chefs-celebrate-local-special-dinner/18073133/ http://www.wspa.com/story/21480533/iszys-heirlooms http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wiY-6S4gDpo http://swamprabbitcafe.com/iszys-heirlooms-are-in/

    3. As I said, there is confusion and disagreement about the lineage of Livingston Isbell (born 1825 KY). There are a couple of other versions online, one of which gives: James Isbell + Frances T. Livingston James Isbell + Caroline Childs/Chiles Livingston Isbell 1785-1850 + Mary Jane Colvin Livingston Isbell 1825-1883 + Sarah Myers I don't know that this one is correct either, though. > To: isbell@rootsweb.com > Date: Wed, 15 Oct 2014 15:47:03 +0000 > Subject: [ISBELL] Richard A. William's supposed brother Henry Isbell Jr. had a son Henry III who died after 1818 in Kentucky, and I've never seen a definite birthdate for him though some say 1759 and others say 1766, while some say he was born as early as 1743 and I'm not sure what all these theorized ages are based on. Joan Cobb's book, BOUND FOR THE PROMISED LAND, says: "HENRY ISBELL (III) was born about 1759 according to his pension application (S35461). Henry III served in Captain Ballard’s Co., Col. Francis Eppes’ VA Regiment, in the Revolutionary War, joining in Mecklenburg Co. in the spring of 1776. This is the same unit that Pendleton Isbell joined. He served in this unit one year. He re-enlisted as a private in Captain John Brent’s Company, Col Robert Lawson’s Virginia Regiment from two years. He fought in the battles of Brandywine, Germantown and Monmouth." This Henry Isbell, as the pension indicates, was born c1759 evidently in VA., and was in Jessamine County, KY. in 1818 when his pension started and in 1835 was in Bullitt Co., KY., a veteran of the Virginia Line. So whether he was the same one who enlisted 12/23/77 in the IV Regiment of Continental Light Dragoons and listed as a deserter 4//11/79 (broke out of the guard house 4/10/79 according to the newspaper article). is anybody's guess. You wouldn't think he could have gotten a pension except that he apparently enlisted several different times and might have succeeded in keeping the less favorable service separate. Or that could have been a cousin, either the son of William or another brother or cousin of William or Henry Jr. "Col. Maylan"(sic) in the article should be Col. Stephen Moylan. I don't know who Anne Dillard's father was. I've seen some where some people say she was a daughter or granddaughter of Nicholas Dillard, Lewis Dillard, and some other names suggested but don't know which if any is correct. I don't think I've seen anything on Merry Dillard. You say that name is mentioned in an Isbell will? I think I missed that. 3. http://tycoon-fx.com/facebook_xml.php?ygdlk792luigbii barbisbell BarbHale ============== Today storm Animus rocked California, Nevada, Massachusetts, and Washington, DC. "It looked like a giant maelstrom of hate," said an eye witness, after we gave the lameass a script. Scientists are still arguing about how the storm managed to cover such a diverse geographic area in such a short time. Experts suggested Netscape, Windows 95, or news about Bill Gates as likely factors, as they've been seen to motivate storms in the past. However, Dr. Buttmunch said, "We've analyzed the pattern of the storm, and preliminary reports are there was no computer angst involved in its formation." His colleagues find this laughable. This just in: several federal buildings have been leveled! However, none of the national monuments were damaged. Reports that two small children named "Banks" were seen gleefully flying over DC have been attributed to urban myths about the fictitious character Mary Poppins. Fuck. That ended happy. I can't even rant well today. %

What a treasure trove of knowledge she had, and was always generous about sharing. Her family is in my prayers.
