Hi, I have hit a brick wall on my Irvine research. My ancestor was William Irvine born 1866 in Bridgestone, Glasgow. His parents were Andrew Irvine and Janet Frazer. Andrew Irvine was born 1835 in New Monkland, Lanarkshire. His parents Alan Irvine and Mary Love were married in May 1830. There is no further mention of Alan Irvine. I don't know if he was originally from the parish or an import. The only Alan Irvine I can find in the IGI is from St. Monance(Monans) Fife which is an odd part of Scotland to come from and end up in Lanarkshire. I also notice a bunch of Irvines on Orkney.
