Hello to all, This is a repeat and I am still searching :) I am trying to locate any info that anyone might have on WALTER IRVINE , I believe him to be the one who married Ann Fitzhugh Rose d/o Col. Patrick Rose in 1790, the marriage was in Amherst Co . ...The Samuel Irvine ,who married a cousin of hers also named Ann Rose,d/o Hugh Rose, in 1794 is believed to be his brother...they too married in Amherst Co....Samuel apparently stayed in the area of Amherst as there are records for him... The Walter, who I believe to be my ggggrandfather, went to Buckingham Co...as he has at least one child born there in 1802...of course Buck.Co. records burned twice. The Walter who married Ann was dead by 1812 and she remarried a Payne.. I really think these are the same Walter Irvines.. There is a record in Gordons accounts of his hiring horse to travel to Buck. Co. in 1820's to settle the suit of Walter's adminstrators...Gordon was Att. in Amherst and also was to do some degree involved with Samuels estate also. These suits and estate settlements sometimes went on for several years as each minor child became adult. I know that my gggrandfather Samuel was born in Buck. Co. in 1802 and married Catherine Greenhill Jones in Amelia Co.....they lived in Buck. Co. for several years and their first children were born there. They then left and went to Weakley Co Tn. in 1833. My Walter from all reports was a merchant and probably owned several properties as Samuel did in Amherst. I would like to be able to locate the records or the suit or an obituary for Walter...I have located Samuel's but Walter died before he did. Anything that would name survivors would be most helpful in establishing proof of what I already am pretty certain of. Does anyone know who the father of Walter and Samuel was and if he left a will? I have sent mail to chancery court to try and locate but have received no response. If anyone has the tinest shred of info I would really appreciate any help you could give.
