I'm searching for info on my g-g-grandmother Matilda Irwin (b.ca.1795 in NC), her parents, etc. The information I've gathered on her is as follows: Matilda Irwin, b.ca.1794 (in NC per Censuses in IL---"Ro" per the marriage reference found on one of the FTM CD's cited below---I've seen reference made to Irvin/Irwin variants in Rowan Co., NC) She married John Wells (b.ca.1795 in NC per Censuses in IL and FTM CD's marriage reference) in NC in 1824. Children I'm aware of include: Matilda Wells (my great-grandmother who disowned my grandfather), b.ca.1834 in IL, married Benjamin Hahn, son of David and Mary (Hubbard) Hahn, Nov. 23, 1854, at Whitehall, Greene Co., IL. Anderson Wells, b.ca.1833 in IL, married Jane Hahn, dau. of David and Mary (Hubbard) Hahn, Oct.1, 1865, Greene Co., IL. John Wells, b.ca.1835, IL. James Wells, b.ca.1838, IL. >From the date of Matilda Irwin's marriage to John Wells I would expect there were other older children (possibly born in NC).
