    1. [IRVIN-L] ANOTHER IRVIN-WILSON MARRIAGE
    2. Johnella Boynton
    3. I am interested in the posting by Debbie Skripkunis of the Irvin-Wilson marriage of her ancestors in Virginia. I, too, am researching this combination in my husband's ancestry, but this marriage occurred about a century later, in Kentucky. My John M. Irvin was born 12 July 1790, according to his gravestone in the old Cane Ridge cemetery in Bourbon Co., KY. He married Sarah J. Wilson in Bourbon County on 12 March 1818. Bourbon County marriage records also show the marriage of a Joshua Irvin on 17 June 1816 to a Jane Wilson. In all likelihood, these were brothers and sisters. A Bourbon County deed record shows these two couples as selling two small tracts of land together in 1832. I would guess that this land was inherited by Jane and Sarah. Jane (Wilson) Irvin died 1 Sep 1843. Her obituary, published in the Western Citizen, said she was 45 years of age, which would make her born in 1798. John M. and Sarah (Wilson) Irvin continued to live in Bourbon County the rest of their lives. He died before 12 April 1865 when administration of his estate was granted to Sarah. She was born in 1800 and died in 1868, according to her gravestone. The 1860 census of Bourbon County shows John M. Irvin as having been born in Kentucky. Thanks for any help you can give me.
