Hi all. I'm researching the line of IRVINE's from William IRVINE & Phoebe HANNA. They had at least four sons (we believe that there were 9 children in all) ... so far we think they were: 1. George IRVINE married ?Margaret. Ended up dying in Los Angeles Co., CA of heart disease. Had a son who was a physician in Edinburgh, Scotland, who died about the same time as he did around 1892. 2. James IRVINE married (1) Henrietta RICE and (2) Margaret BYRNE. The city of Irvine, CA (Orange Co.) is named for him and the huge ranch that he had there. Born in Ireland, moved to New York then on to San Francisco. Had sons: James, Harvey. Son James had three children: James, Kathryn & Myford. We believe that there was also a connection to some IRVINE's in West Virginia. 3. Samuel IRVINE married Mary Maitland MCCALLA. Lived in Calaveras Co., CA for awhile and had a family. The couple had four children: John, Phoebe, William & Susan. (this is my husband's line) 4. William IRVINE married Jane. Don't know much about this group, except for the fact that they were in California. If any of this looks familiar to anyone ... please contact me!!! Amy
