    2. Robert Ervin
    3. John Ervin, Reference your comments Feb 28th on Robert Ervin's. James Irvine (Ervin) #177 and Elizabeth James Irvine (Ervin) #178 had seven children. They were Hugh, Rebecca, Elizabeth, John, Samuel, James and Robert (the one you mentioned). I am descended from John. After coming to South Carolina in the 1730's the Irvine name was changed to Ervin. What line are you descended from? Do you have the material that was assembled by Senator Sam Ervin? I have all that material plus other. Let me know if I can be of help in your quest. 1. [IRVIN-L] ANOTHER IRVIN-WILSON MARRIAGE
    2. Johnella Boynton
    3. I am interested in the posting by Debbie Skripkunis of the Irvin-Wilson marriage of her ancestors in Virginia. I, too, am researching this combination in my husband's ancestry, but this marriage occurred about a century later, in Kentucky. My John M. Irvin was born 12 July 1790, according to his gravestone in the old Cane Ridge cemetery in Bourbon Co., KY. He married Sarah J. Wilson in Bourbon County on 12 March 1818. Bourbon County marriage records also show the marriage of a Joshua Irvin on 17 June 1816 to a Jane Wilson. In all likelihood, these were brothers and sisters. A Bourbon County deed record shows these two couples as selling two small tracts of land together in 1832. I would guess that this land was inherited by Jane and Sarah. Jane (Wilson) Irvin died 1 Sep 1843. Her obituary, published in the Western Citizen, said she was 45 years of age, which would make her born in 1798. John M. and Sarah (Wilson) Irvin continued to live in Bourbon County the rest of their lives. He died before 12 April 1865 when administration of his estate was granted to Sarah. She was born in 1800 and died in 1868, according to her gravestone. The 1860 census of Bourbon County shows John M. Irvin as having been born in Kentucky. Thanks for any help you can give me.

    2. I have a New web page through Familytreemaker online. About 85 per cent is accurate and taken from Census records, Death and Birth Certificates, Vital Records , and Family Histories which have been proven accurate. The other 15 percent is guess work or how I believe people are related but as of yet have not found documented proof. Only have information from talking to other cousins and various Miscellaneous Data. You will find many mistakes in this because I of course am human like everyone. I will welcome any comments or ideals you send my way. I am no where near finished with my research. I am still entering data. The Page will be updated constanly. http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/s/i/m/Gregory-A-Simmons/ODT1-0001.html My fathers side is listed as Descendants of John Simmons. My fathers line goes back about 5 to 7 generations to about the 1700's. My Mothers side which has not been added yet but should be soon contains many New England Families of New Hampshire and Mass.. I have her lines back for 14 generations to 1640's and some before 1640 and into England. Greg Simmons

    1. [IRVIN-L] Irvin or Irving
    2. Donna Brand Higgins
    3. Hi everybody, I've been doing a little library research and hope one of you will recognize this family. My grandmother's name was Mollie Evelyn Irvin. I finally found her as a child in GA with her parents. The following is what I found. 1880 census for Jackson County Georgia, taken on June 2, 1880 in Randolphs District Number 248. There are two page numbers. One on the upper right hand side of the census says page 553 and the other series of numbers is on the upper left hand corner shown as page 5, supervisor's dist. # 2, Enumeration district # 56. Families visitation number begins at 38 Irving, John D. white male age 32 head of household a farmer born in Georgia and both his parents were born in Georgia Irving, Rebecca J. white female age 30 wife of John D. born in GA and both her parents were born in Georgia. Irving, Joseph A. white male age 8 son of John D. born in GA and parents in GA Delihia E. white frmale age 7 daughter of John D. she and parents born in GA James L. white male age 5 son of John D. he and parents born in GA Mollie E white female age 3 daughter of John D. she and parents born in GA Christopher C. white male age 3 months son of John D. born as per above Head, Henry black male age 35, laborer he and his parents born in GA Family visitation number 39 Irving, Polly white female age 55 head of household she and both parents born in GA James J. age 22 son of Polly a farmer, he and both parents born in GA Cassandra age 22 daughter of Polly, she and both parents born in GA Irving, Elly J. white female age 18, servant to Polly, she and both parents born in GA Family visitation number 40 Irving, Lesley white male age 25 head of household, farmer he and both parents in GA Julia F white female age 18 wife of Lesley, she and both parents born in GA Joseph L. white male age 9 months, son of Lesley, he and parents from GA Family visitation number 41 Irving, James white male age 32 head of household, farmer he and parents born in GA Sarah E. white female age 29 wife of James, she and her parents born in GA John N. white male age 3 son of James, he and both parents born in GA Elizabeth white female age 1 daughter of James she and parents born in GA I searched the 1850, 1860, and 1870 GA census and didn't find any of them. I suspect another name spelling. I'll have to go back and screen for every Irvin spelling variation I can find. Maybe then I'll turn something up. In the mean time, I sure hope one of you guys will recognize this family. I'll post it on our new web site too. The part I like about our new web sites is that the subject line, where you put the surnames contained in the query, becomes a searchable item on the Internet. A good reason to post. Thanks for at least screening the information. donna list host
