Patte There's a Byrne around every corner in Wicklow! Can I suggest you look in the Irish telephone directory... go to www.goldenpages.ie. On the right hand side you will see PHONE BOOK... click on this and then search Byrne-Greystones-Wicklow and you will see you get 30 results listed. My brother did think that the Laurence Byrne he referred to was somehow connected to the Carrol family who lived in St Brigids Park, Blacklion. I note there is a Byrne listed for St Brigids Park and that may be a good place to start - there are only about 20 cottages in the road and everyone knows everyone else. Hope this helps. Does anyone have access to old neswpapers in the Wicklow area? Im trying to find an obituary of an Austin O'Donnell who died on 4th October1905. He was a policeman and died from T.B & Thrombosis. Aged 32. It was in Newcastle, Rathdrum. Mark
Mark Could I suggest you write to the Bray Library and enlist the help of Robbie, he is most helpful and I do know that all the older newspapers for the *Wicklow People * are housed there. I know you said Rathdrum but Wicklow People should cover it, but they will know where to look if its another paper. County Librarian, Wicklow County Library Hq., Boghall Road, Bray, Co. Wicklow.
