Hi Ruth From Ruan O'Donnell's book "The Rebellion in Wicklow 1798" p.54 there is a reference to a Patrick Macken of Glencullen. "...The earliest reports of seditious meetings and transactions in Wicklow date from this period (summer of 1796), including one concerning a group 'supposed to be defenders' who met regularly at Maurice McCue's sheebeen at Curtlestown near Powerscourt. McCue, who had apparently been identified by Patrick Macken of Glencullen, was unmasked as the secretary of a United Irish society in 1798 which would have been amongst the first in Wicklow if the Curtlestown report was accurate..."
