Hello Listers I had always thought that my 2xggrandfather, Patrick RATH, was born in Co Louth in 1797. However, a cousin of mine and his wife recently visited Ireland and tramped everywhere looking for Irish roots. They have recorded that Patrick was born c 1797 in Wicklow, IRL. His wife Margaret TUMBLY (also TOMBLEY, TUMALTY or HAMILTON) was b. c 1805 in Co. Louth. They married in IRL abt 1826/27 (Patrick was 29 when he married). They had two children: Mary b 1827 in Widnes, Derby England, Thomas b.1830 Lancashire, England, and John b. 1833 aboard ship coming to Australia. If anyone can give me any information of where to find the true information, I would be extremely grateful.
