Does anyone know why Hackettstown is in 2 counties, Carlow & Wicklow. Brian O. -- BrianO broulig@fastmail.fm -- http://www.fastmail.fm - Same, same, but differentÂ… ----- Original message ----- From: "slstrick" <slstrick@verizon.net> To: IRL-WICKLOW-L@rootsweb.com Date: Sat, 28 Jan 2006 08:34:31 -0500 Subject: [Wicklow] Gutenberg Project Books that mention Wicklow Hi All, An email on another list mentioned the www.gutenberg.org project which puts online books that are outside of copyright restrictions. So I thought I would see what is there and was delighted to find many old books for reading. I put Wicklow in the field for Full-Text and it came back with a list of 131 books found. Here are directions: 1. Go to www.gutenberg.org and click on the "Online Book Catalog" link. 2. After that page loads click on the Advanced search link. 3. After the search page loads, there is a form to provide the search request details. You can enter as much or as little as you wish. I entered Wicklow in the Full Text box and it returned a list of 131 books. When I put Wicklow in the subject field it returned nothing found. When you select a book from the list, the next screen provides the various formats available, some are text, some are html including the illustrations. Enjoy!
