Is there a chance that my elusive Wicklow Raymonds from the 1700s were perhaps called Redmond in an earlier era? Does McLysaght suggest this change of name was possible? I ask because the English forename Edmond becomes Eamonn in Irish. Redmond might therefore have become Reamonn or Raymond later, in some areas. Anyone got any ideas? I'd especially like to hear from anyone researching the Redmond name to see what they think. Debby Raymond in Queensland, Australia.
