Thanks to Cara and Cyril for recent tips, particularly about searching the land deeds at Henrietta Street. I'll try to look into that myself when I am next in Ireland. Where would I go in Dublin to look up Wills? My RAYMONDS don't appear in Wicklow in Griffiths Valuations in the 1850s. I think they had disappeared from there even before the Tithe Applotments of the 1830s. There are documented RAYMONDS who came from England to Dublin in about 1600, and soon after moved on to Kerry. Through DNA testing, an exciting genealogical tool, we have found that we are not at all related to the Kerry line. So the Raymonds I can trace to Kildare in 1810, who I'm hoping to tie up with the Wicklow ones, must have descended from a different line, maybe even Raymond le Gros from France! I'd like to get a copy of Cantwell's book of cemeteries to see if I can find Edward RAYMOND and William RAYMOND buried in Wicklow, unless some kind soul can look it up for me?
