William Eager m. Katherine Finlay abt 1803. Church of Ireland William fought at the Battle of Hacketstown. After he was married he bought a farm in Ballinafoyle. Before he was married in lived in Kilcarney. Who were his parents? When was he born? When did he die? Katherine Finlay was born in the late 1780's most probably to Thomas Finlay and Ann Smith of Ballinabarney. Thomas was killed after the Battle of Hacketstown in 1798. One of his known children was Germaine/German Finlay. Katherine Finlay introduced this name into the Eager family where it is still used today. Does anybody know the exact date of Katherine's birth, and her death, which was some time abt 1820. Children: Joseph Eager b.1809 m Catherine Freeman. Lived Ballinafoyle Thomas Eager b. 1809 m1. Henry Heaney Ballinacone Mary Jane Eager b. Abt 1819 m. Henry Hinch Knocknaree - one child emigrated to Australia. Anne Eager m. Henry Lawrence Slieveroe Moyne After Katherine died, William married Peggy Wallace of Clonmore, and had two children William and Sally, presumably born in the 1820/30's. Sally married Mr Dowling and went to live in Dublin. William was given a third of his father's farm, but lost it through a disagreement and moved away from the area - Does anybody know anything about these two children?
