    3. Hi, I have as some of you know been trying to trace my Grandfathers Family, He was Thomas Kavanagh, and His Father was Samuel Kavanagh who married Ellen Reynolds in Arklow R>C Chapel Aug 26th 1872, so I always thought that they had brought the family up in Arklow, but yesterday I received from a ("Cousin" a Descendant of James Kavanagh who built the Fastnet Rock Lighthouse, James was My Great Grandfather Samuels Brother) in Wicklow Town the Wicklow Historical Society Magazine for June 2005, and What did I find when I was reading through, an article all about the boating disaster that happened on 6th August 1905 in the Wicklow Waters just near to Black Castle, and it resulted in two younger Brothers of my Grandfather, a Patrick Kavanagh aged 19 and Lawrence Kavanagh aged 17, were both drowned and it seems the whole town of Wicklow was in grief for the Family. My Great Grandparents wrote to the Local Newspaper of the time, a letter of Gratitude to all those who helped in the search and eventual recovery of the bodies of their two Sons, and they were later buried in Three Mile Water Cemetery just out side Wicklow, were their Grandfather and Mother (My Great Great Grandparents Michael and Mary are also buried.) I would love to find a copy of that newspaper, and I have emailed the Wicklow Library's to ask if they could lead me to finding the paper. But does anyone on the list have any ideas for me Please. It just goes to show though you never know were you may find snippets of information about your Family. Best Wishes to All Gina.
