    1. Roe/Keeley/Ireland
    2. I am new to the list and need help. Family lore has the Roes and Keeleys coming from Enniskerry. I just found a reference that the oldest son was born in Wexford. According to the tax reference, no Keeleys are in Wexford. Julia Keeley/Kealy left Ireland with her sister, Bridget, and apparently went directly to Essex Massachusetts before 1850. Mary Ann Keeley marries John Roe and has the following children between 1840-1857 Robert, Nicholas, Julia, Elizabeth, John, and Edward. The father, John Sr., is on the 1861 census in Alice Twp Ontario. This gives credence to the thought that John left first and settled and the family followed. Julia marries but later comes up to Pembroke ON. Bridget must have stayed in MA, as a servant. In 1890's, Frederick Charles and Emily Ireland sail to NY, are on the 1891 census in Pembroke, and then both go back to NY, he to become a doctor and she a nurse. Fred and Emily are buried in the family plot with Julia. The family was staunch Anglican. So, I am guessing that Bridget, Mary Ann and Julia may have had a younger sister who stayed in behind and married someone named Ireland. Is anyone familiar with the names Roe, Keeley, and Ireland?
