    3. Kathleen 'Kitty' Doyle from Aughrim, who was in her early 70s when she died last week, was essentially a family person and a good neighbour. A daughter of the late Patrick and Margaret Byrne, life for Kitty began at Killacloran and she later married Stephen (Sam) Doyle and together they reared a family of four sons, Michael, Brian, Alan and Gerry and one daughter Margaret. at Our Lady's Drive, Aughrim. Her husband Sam died some years ago and she was also predeceased by one son Gerry who died at a young age. During her life time she worked in Dublin and in Arklow. She was a very kind person and her friendliness endeared her to all who knew her. Kitty was a devoted mother to her family, loved children, and was a staunch supporter of the local school. Her passing is much regretted in the area, not least by her family and relatives and the many neighbours to whom she was a true friend. Evidence of the high esteem in which she and her family are held in the community was manifest at her funeral, with the Requiem Mass concelebrated by V. Rev. Jerry O'Brien, Fr. C. Allman and Monsignor James Hammil, PP., Annacurra. Burial took place in Macreddin Cemetery. Wicklow People Feb 2006
