Dear Cara A belated, thank you for the information about the Leslie and Ellis lines. I've had a quick look through (parental duties keep getting in the way) and recognised some of the names, including Robert Fancis Ellis, who I beleive was my husband's 2nd great grand-father. I am desperate to study the rest more carefully, so I think it'll be one of those nights when I stay up late. I'm very intrigued with this line as they appear to have been quite wealthy, unlike any of my own very humble ancestors. The question is, what happened to the money? The estate of Magherymore was only sold 50 years ago, to pay off debts. Do you have any link with these people yourself? I have had some very helpful advice on lines of investigation from a couple of other peolple on the list, so it was well worth asking. I'm always a little worried about joining new groups as some are far from friendly - certainly not the case on Wicklow!
