    1. RE: [Wicklow] FITZWILLIAM INDEXES

    3. Thanks Cara. I have seen Ms 3996 a couple of times, a tremendous big book, with the number of male and of female children listed, the age (but no name) of the wife, and on the extreme left column, the number of relatives in residence. It is handy to be able to find that family a few years later. A small note in the book, concerning Knockatomcoyle in 1839 said Thomas Haskins, the tenant had 1 nephew there. That was listed in his family section, and not the extreme right column. In the 1848 section Thomas Haskins Exors (Executors) were named as tenants, with John Haskins aged 26 working the farm. Thus I was able to connect Abraham Haskins of Coolkenno as brother of Thomas Haskins of Knockatomcoyle because Abraham had a son John born in 1822. There were other deeds of leases which supported this claim. The last time I requested Ms 3396 I was told it had been filmed and was no longer on access. I went back to the Library and found the film quality was just terrible to read. If I were ever in the Manuscript room again I would ask for Ms 3397 or Ms 3398 and maybe have better luck. 3. Hello Cara; I would be interested in seeing these Indexes are they only Available in Ireland? I wondered if the national library in Ottawa, Canada would have copies? If not we are planning To go to Ireland next year it seems like a long way off.
