    3. Oh, Cara, that is so sad. And, even more sad, still applicable in many parts of the world. Makes me think of the reasoning that seemed to prevail in Victorian England that the poor were necessary - gave the good ladies of the middle class a wide choice of recipients to whom they bestow their christian charity.     3. Barbara If it is the poem from Cara to which you refer - I gather it was from a Wexford Nes Paper in the 1830 . And as you may know Wexford is in Ireland. !
