    1. [IRL-WICKLOW] Fw: VIA CARA EDGE AND BARRINGTON and WHY?

    3. For what it's worth after I had emailed and telephoned the Registrar's Office in Roscommon they looked again and found the marriage certificate I was looking for. No explanation as to how they I had missed it. I can only think that I had inadvertently given them too much information. I knew my great grandparents had married in St Saviour's Church (of Ireland) in Rathdrum whereas the marriage certificate simply said "The Parish Church". The marriage was conducted by the Rev R Wyndham Guinness. Anyway all's well that ends well. I now know that my great grandmother's father was Michael BARRINGTON then (1896) of Main Street Rathdrum. I believe that my branch of the BARRINGTONs may have come to Rathdrum from Queen's County. My great grandmother's sister Frances (or Fanny) BARRINGTON was a draper in Tullow, Co Carlow in the 1910s and early 1920s. (Thanks to the Irish Times archive I now know when she put the business up for sale in 1922 and have the notice of her marriage in June 1923 to William F Murdock as well as lots of information on my EDGEs). I should be interested in any further information anyone might have on my BARRINGTONs and what link, if any, they might have with Jonah BARRINGTON and his ancestors. I understand a bridge ib Bray Co Wicklow was engineered by a ? David Edge. I have details of sobe Edge names collected - trying to find a connection . Did you by any chance have a name Edge-McKenna ? I can extract what I have and share with you if it would be of use .
