LOL, I could not agree more with your opening sentence. I believe Moran and Darcy are the same way. Then, when one adds the Irish Naming Tradition on top of that, one can completely mad. I will never forget when I first started my genealogy research and went to the FHC to check on my g. grandfather, John Darcy. The first film I pulled up had that name about every other line. I got so depressed.........I thought that I would never find him. I went home very disillusioned. To date I still have not found his exact birth. Luckly, he got married in Montreal, Quebec, and was able to find his marriage record, thanks to a wonderful priest there. He married Mary Moran, which is no better. If I had a dollar for everyone who came to North America with those two names, I could afford to go to Ireland to do my own research. You are a please to communicate with on-line. Seldom do we connect with other lines but we keep trying. Thank you for your curtesy and I wish you well on your continued searching. So, I would have nothing to gain from your information. I enjoyed visiting with you on this subject and comparing notes. However if you like I will still send the History and Tree to you privately for your records. Unfortunately at the time of publishing the sources were not recorded and anything that might look promising to connect would need personally verification. I am actually having another look at this History as there were great uncles who we didn't follow through to later generations. Nothing at this stage leads me to believe that any of the ancestors went to USA or Canada. Before Australia is difficult. Some that became friends to this line of Walsh actually changed their names or the spelling of their names as most of them had been rebels. i.e. Phelan became Phegan or Pheagan so am lucky we have the notations out of the Walsh family bible that one of them brought with them to Sydney Australia. The change in name in the Walsh's may have only meant the addition of 'e' to the name i.e. Walshe but have never seen it in this line in Australia. Did Happen in the line in Ireland, one with no 'e' another with. All very messy. None in our tree were proved to have an 'e'. Ah! the Irish are a mysterious lot. If you still wish to have the information will be happy to send although i doubt it will help you with your line. regards Paddy *************************************** 1- Only leave in the body of the mail what is relevant to your answer 2- Change the SUBJECT LINE to suit the body of your own Mail to List. ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- No virus found in this incoming message.
