Hi everyone I have been following the messages about witnesses to the Weddings etc with some curiosity of my own as on checking through I seem to have a Few Forde names pop up as witnesses as well as a few Kavanagh/Cavanagh there is also a McDonnel/Mcdonald.......so I am now thinking maybe these link up as I have Forde, McDonell/McDonald in my tree....but how do I link them up? I am still trying to find out some more information on my Lacey Line from Arklow, Wicklow. I have Peter Lacey Married Mary Forde they were married in the R C Church. Owen Prydderch and found later in Wales Sponsors to Christening were: John MacDonnell / Mary Lawless Alexander Lacey 7 June 1856 In Arklow, Wicklow. Any Graves that may belong to Peter Lacey and Mary would also be appreciated as I have no idea of birth, death etc. Thank you for reading Jeanette
"Matthew Lacey 16 Nov 1839 In Johnstown, Arklow m. Catherine Brien Sponsors to Christening were: Daniel Kavanagh / Teresa Forde" DANIEL Kavanagh?? What a joy to see the name!! Probably not the one I want, but exciting nevertheless. My Daniel, Blacksmith, was born c.1807 "Wicklow" to James Kavanagh & Mary Byrne/Byrnes/Burns (the latter as recorded in Australia) - married Margaret Murphy c.1834 at Glendalough - listed on Griffiths Valuation as renting house & forge at Coolbeg (Glenealy), where at least one daughter was born c.1847 - family came to Australia 1858. Fourth (known) son was Patrick, born c.1843, so about 13 at time of christening of Alexander Lacey. Any bells ringing?? Cheers Barbara
