Hi Peggy, Thank you for the info on the Microsoft Program. That is really interesting, as I have not heard about it. I believe I will have to look into this as I enjoy using all of the Microsoft programs when doing my genealogy. I used to use only Works, but now use Word. I still have Works, but do not use it like I use to do. One of the days I would like to stay near home long enough to take some Microsoft classes at the community college since they do so much and I do not make use of all which they do. Of course, that means the RV will have to stay parked for a while. LOL I still watch for Weadock/Weadick/Wadduck, etc. while researching, and would suggest everyone do so, as you contribute so much to this list. I wish you a great trip to Ireland again this year. I know you are ready to get back over there and wish I could go this year. Hopefully I can go in 2010 as I believe that will be the best way to find more information on my ancestors., Joseph --- On Wed, 2/4/09, [email protected] <[email protected]> wrote: I mentioned in an earlier post that I use Microsoft Word for my databases. That is because I've been making databases for almost 20 years, and I'm used to Word. I actually had Word bundled into my newest computers at an extra expense, and ended up buying an old version of Microsoft Works on Ebay for my laptop. There is a free Microsoft program you can download that will convert Word into Excell, and visa versa. Actually, you can convert any of the Microsoft programs with it. I found this out from a Tech at Microsoft last year, when NONE of my databases opened on this new computer! I called and cried to the poor woman, telling her 20 years worth of research was "down the drain". Peggy Leonard p.s. And tell me, Joseph, do you have anything that remotely sounds like Weadock/Weadick/Wadduck, etc. on any of your databases, from anwhere? If so, I'd love to have them!
