    3. Hello Joseph, I noticed that one of your names of interest is WALSH. I have been having a lot of trouble going back on my Walsh family. They came from Muckalee Kilkenny. Oldest name in tree is Matthew Walsh guessed at being born around 1790's + or - A priest told us that his wife was Caroline or Catherine and he couldn't give me more than that. His son James born c1815 and his wife Ann Conron born c1814 arrived in Sydney NSW 1860's between 1859 and 1866 their children born in Muckalee Kilkenny also arrived in Australia First to arrive about 1859 was Matthew born c1840 then John born c1838 , Anne born 1841 and Martin born c 1842 There was another son who did not immigrate to Sydney. His name was Patrick born 1837 I have all their family details from the time they arrived in Sydney. I have never been able to find why Patrick did not join the family in Sydney. There was a rumour that there had been a priest in the family. Also could never find any siblings of James and have never been able to find the ship in which Matthew (b 1840) my gr grandfather, arrived on. The family story goes that he refused to bend his knee to the Monarchy and had his name stripped from all records and any possessions taken away and put in Chancery and that he was marched to the ship and transported to Sydney as a non person. In other words he was a rebel. His son my grandfather Patrick Walsh, tried to get the money from Chancery in later years but it would have proved non viable financially to obtain it. Joseph, if you like I can send you our family tree and the History which we did in the 1990's before we had computers and it was all slog all the way. So there could be a few unproven bits in there. My brother did most of the library and government records and I did all the interviewing of the living members of the family and managed to extract photos & stuff while I was doing it. I would have to send the documents to your private address and ask you to not use any of the living generation in any public way. Let me know. Just to make sure you will be able to open and use it, I need to know if you have Microsoft Excel in your computer. If you do not have it, it will not open. My step son tried for days to open it and finally called long distance to ask why he could not open it. I had forgotten to ask if he had Excel on his personal lap top, It turned out he did not so I told him to forward it to his computer in the office and he could use it. Just tell me which Surnames you are researching so I can name each database. Also, what other type database would you need? witness and Godparents? Ship Lists Checked? Are you researching Ireland only, and if so, which counties are you researching in? I check for Darcy, Moran, and Walsh in all Counties in Ireland. Joseph

    3. Hi Paddy,   I would really be grateful if you could share your information with me.  I have less info on my g.g. grandmother, Margaret Walsh Moran, than on any other ancestor.  At this point all I know is that she married John Moran on 21 Nov 1819 in the Kildare Rathangan RC Parish in Co Kildare.  And I have the names an dates of baptism of their 5 children.  I lucked out and found all of this when I researched the parish records at the FHC in Houston, TX.  I have no idea of where she is from, when she was born, or who her parents were.  There was only one other Walsh record within a month or so of her wedding, so I believe she must not have been from that area.    I believe her mother might have been named Mary, since she named her first daughter Mary and the second one Margaret.  It appears that my Irish ancestors used the Irish naming traditions extensively, and that has helped in my research.   Thank you for your offer, I am excited about receiving it. When I get your Walsh information into my Walsh database, would you like a copy/   Joseph --- On Tue, 2/3/09, Paddy <[email protected]net.au> wrote: Hello Joseph, I noticed that one of your names of interest is WALSH.
