Hi Peggy, Here is a my response to the original posting - "My Daniel, Blacksmith, was born c.1807 "Wicklow" to James Kavanagh & Mary Byrne/Byrnes/Burns (the latter as recorded in Australia) - married Margaret Murphy c.1834 at Glendalough - listed on Griffiths Valuation as renting house & forge at Coolbeg (Glenealy), where at least one daughter was born c.1847 - family came to Australia 1858." Family was Catholic and the family either paid their own passage to Australia, or had it paid for them. Based on their travel to, and in, Australia, I strongly suspect they had family (Murphys perhaps??) in West Maitland, NSW. They obviously knew exactly where they were heading and didn't waste any time getting there. Regards Barbara
