Carol, This happened in a Scottish family I research. Both Scots, he in the army posted to India, she on a hiking holiday in India they met there and married in Calcutta, had three kids there, each in a different place, he was posted back to the Highlands in Scotland, they had one more child there. Was fun researching the family. Was lucky that the lady concerned was one who kept photos and data. So, the answer to your question is, yes. And it probably happened all the time. Carol, I also have a Wicklow Cuffe who joined a Irish Regiment of British Army in Co. Louth 1809 and was posted all over the place, children were born various places and unless they have a detailed obituary it gets hard to trace them. Joan
