Tea and Wine dealer-Wicklow-1859 1- First class port-24/- a dozen or 2/4d a bottle 2-Amontillado Sherry 24/- a dozen or 2/4d a bottle 3-Fine Port 20/- a dozen or 2/- a bottle 4-Fine Sherry 20/- a dozen or 2/- a bottle 5-Fine Masala 20/- a dozen or 2/- a bottle 6-Fine Madeira 20/- a dozen or 2/- a bottle 7-Fine Bucella 20/- a dozen or 2/- a bottle Cases and Bottles charged for until they are returned. * and a fine hangover if you drank too much. 1905 Vessels in Wicklow Harbour January 1905 were 1- Harmony ( Captain Hayes) from Antwerp cargo being phosphate for the the Dublin and Wicklow Manure Co. 2-On The Murrough - SS Anglesey ( Captain Tyrrell) from Liverpool carrying coal for Kynoch's munition Works of Arklow,. 3-SS Marie ( Captain Redmond) with nitrate soda's for Kynochs 4-SS Portaferry ( Captain Murray) with "slack" for the manure Co. ( dare I ask what slack is?) >From Port Ayr. 5-The Pearl from Dungarvan with a cargo of limestone for Messrs. Pim Market Prices for 4/1/1905 1- 12 eggs for 1s/3d 2- Pair of rabbits cost 6d to 10d. 3-Prime Chickens cost 25/- a dozen 4-Calves 2 Pound each 5-John Shaw at the Upper Mall was selling boots for 14/9d. 6- Coal could be purchased at 1 pound per ton from South Quay from J Pims coal yards 7-Return fair from Dublin 3/- second class and was 2/-for third class All of this gleaned from the Wicklow Newsletter.
