    1. [IRL-WICKLOW] KINSELLA GRANDMOTHER'S BIRTH PUZZLE
    2. Pauline Hall
    3. Hello, I am trying to solve a puzzle on my grandmother's (Margaret Kinsella) birth. She was born in either Wicklow or Wexford in 1897 or 1899 according to the 1901 and 1911 census records. MARGARET KINSELLA aged 4 on the 1901 census lived at Meetings, Wicklow, Ireland. Her brother Timothy was 5 months (b. 21st November, 1900). On the 1911 census she lived at Rockstown Lower with her parents and her 2 younger brothers and 3 sisters. Her age was given as 12. Her parents were ANDREW and MARGARET (nee DOYLE) KINSELLA and they married on the 17th February 1900 (I have the certificate). Would they have had Margaret before they married or was she born after Timothy and her age completely wrong on the census? Or was she Margaret's illegitimate daughter? I hope someone has some suggestions. Thanks, Pauline

    3. Well all the places you mention are Wicklow so it would appear she had her children in the Parish of Avoca- but after researching the name Kinsella forever and a day under that spelling, I had to take a waked up call only yesterday when I realised how many other ways it may be spelt. If it appears on the census does it not say child Andrew one would think it would Nothing of course unusual about a child born before marriage, it happened. I dont at this moment have the data you may need but will look on the old PC tomorrow ( that is if she is kind enough to work for me old she is this old blunderbuss) Cara ----- Original Message ----- From: "Pauline Hall" <[email protected]> To: "WICKLOW" <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, June 15, 2009 9:25 PM Subject: [IRL-WICKLOW] KINSELLA GRANDMOTHER'S BIRTH PUZZLE > Hello, > I am trying to solve a puzzle on my grandmother's (Margaret Kinsella) > birth. > She was born in either Wicklow or Wexford in 1897 or 1899 according to the > 1901 and 1911 census records. > MARGARET KINSELLA aged 4 on the 1901 census lived at Meetings, Wicklow, > Ireland.
