Hi Arlene.....all you have to do is ask. :o) I'm not Maggie (well, I could be, I guess), but I have the following that may be of interest to you... I have a Matthew Kennedy who married Mary Byrne on January 24th, 1843. The witnesses were Owen Rafferty and Esther Byrne. This Marriage took place in Rathdrum R.C. Church in Wicklow. Their residence was Glenmalure. This record was transcribed from Microfilm # 6476, at the National Library in Dublin. I have two of their children as well, if you can use them: Laurence was Baptized 16 Sept. 1856. sponsors were Michael Redmond and Catherine Byrne. Residence listed as Ballinafunshogue. Also Rathdrum Matthew Kennedy was Baptized 16 September 1856. TWINS!! Sponsors were Patrick Larking and Ann Byrne. Hope they're yours... Peggy: Thanks for the information. I received this from you awhile back. I'm really interested in knowing who Mary Byrne parents and siblings were. If I go by the Irish naming pattern I would think it would be a Thomas Byrne and mother Catherine. I see one of their children's sponsors was a Catherine Byrne. Were grandparents ever used as sponsors? Just a thought.
