Hi Cara, Thanks for replying so quickly. My unforgivable ignorance of Irish geography has been quietly pointed out in the last few hours! It transpires that Peter Manning has written quite a lot (including a book, I believe) on Denis Manning, who actually came from Kilbride in Co.Roscommon! The good news seems to be that the Denis in question is Peter's Gt-Gt Grandfather as well as mine! Yes, they are the same person, which is a major breakthrough that I'm excited about as you can imagine.
