Hello Cara - great to get a response, ANY response! I thought I had this one cracked when I got the parents names but still no joy. My C/Kav contacts tell me it sounds more like a Tyrone combination and that may be true but my lot were insistent on the Dublin bit once here in NZ. Possible the parents were from Tyrone and moved to Dublin - also a legal firm of CAVANAGH and HAGAN in Dublin in the 1850s gave me some hope for a while. I have yet to explore fully the NZ records, especially shipping, which might explain why my gg-aunt Mary CAVANAGH arrived here some years before her brother. That might open up some more fruitful avenues for me. Will let you know if anything re HAGANs comes up in that search.
