Hi all, I guess most listers are like me; after posting my interest we just wait in the forlorn hope someone will mention an individual we recognise. Several months later I will post and wait again. So we are still here. In particular I'm looking for mention of my Holt ancestors. Joseph Holt (b about 1796) married Mary (b 1801) in Ireland and had daughter Letitia Holt (about 1825 in Ireland). Letitia married Patrick Byrne in Liverpool Lancashire in 1845 after the family moved there about 1827. Patrick Byrne's father was Lawrence Byrne a Corn dealer. I'm also looking for John Curran (bricklayer b Ireland) who was residing in Liverpool with the above Joseph Holt and later with his own parents Owen Curran (b 1791, dock labourer), and his wife Jane Curran (b 1801). Patrick Curran (b 1816, car proprietor) and Owen Lockey (b 1817, dock labourer) were nephews of Owen and Jane Curran. John Curran's age is 15 in the 1841census; he was 37 in the 1861 census when he was back with the Holt family. So I guess he was born around 1824. Carole

Thank you Golding; I am already contributing to this website and in fact found the General's son and his family sailing to the America in 1836 on the John Jay. They knew nothing about this previously. Ber Holt and I are also in contact.
