    3. Hi listers I am trying to locate descendants of 3 Deegan family's. The family story is that the families sailed on the Famine Ship in 1847 from New Ross to Quebec, Canada. James Deegan from Killinure married to Catherine Whelan and first settled in Belleville Ontario. William Deegan (b1813) from Killinure married to Catherine Doyle and first settled in Beleville Ontario. Dennis Deegan from Mungacullen married to Mary Connor and first settled in Kingston Ontario. The direct descendants of these original Deegans from Killinure in Wicklow, now live in Ireland, England and Australia. kind regards Michelle

We believe our Kavanagh family sailed on the Glenlyon from New Ross to Quebec in 1847 and settled in Ontario before moving on to Chicago, Illinois.
