Dennis, Yes, they could very easily be correct Irish addresses. But I don't think this is a good way of going about it. In my many long telephone conversations with relatives I have heard over and over that "we once got a letter from some fella/gal in America/Australia/wherever asking questions - but we never replied." I don't fully understand this, but may I suggest you get a SKYPE account and actually phone the person up? It's quite cheap. I have cold-called NUMEROUS people who never heard of me, and told them I was trying to do a family tree, and been very calm and unhurried, and just let them talk. I have never had a conversation that wasn't worthwhile. Sometimes they don't know much if anything, but they know who in the family would know, and given me their telephone number. But you can't put people on the spot and phone them when they're in the middle of preparing dinner or whatever, and expect answers to questions they never thought of. Patience is the number one thing. Also, tell them something about you! And what you've found out so far. I rang one older lady, who had never heard of me, nor I of her, until someone gave me her number, and she has since learnt to email, scan documents, and has been calling tons of other relatives I didn't know existed, and getting information from them. And she's loving it! And so am I! I've grown very fond of her, even though we've never met. So I suggest you make a phone call, rather than write. OR write to say you might call, but I prefer cold-calling so they're not dreading a call! ;-) Best of luck, Hilda in Colorado, USA In a message dated 6/17/2010 1:17:12 A.M.
