    2. All excited! I finally tracked James Doyle, father of Simon Doyle, to the townland of Crehelp, which is east of Dunlavin, Co. Wicklow. Griffith's Valuation has him farming along side another Simon Doyle. Father? Brother? Does anyone know anything about these Doyles? Or Crehelp? Or how to get Dunlavin records for the 1820s & further back?? Any suggestions would be slobbered over with eternal gratitude! Happy Bastille Day! Hilda in Colorado

    3. Hi On the IFHF site (pay) there is 1 match for Simon Doyle with father James in the Dunlavin area of Wicklow (don't know the year). It will cost €5 for the record, but hopefully it will show Simon's mother's name, which will then allow you to search for any other children/a marriage. This site regarding Dunlavin might be of interest http://dunlavin.blogspot.com/ CheersColette > From: hildanic@aol.com > Date: Thu, 14 Jul 2011 12:20:23 -0600 > To: irl-wicklow@rootsweb.com > Subject: [IRL-WICKLOW] Crehelp, near Dunlavin > > All excited! 3. Hello, I have the IFH baptism record in Dunlavin for Simon Doyle - father James. He was baptised on 18-1-1846. His mother's names is Mary, unfortunately there is no surname given. The sponsors were Christy Pollard and Catherine Doyle. I have the record because I thought there might be a connection with my Doyle family - I have yet to determine whether Simon Doyle is a possible brother to my Gt grandfather Terence Doyle. Terence was bap. in Avoca, Wicklow on 29-1-1843. His father was James Doyle and Mary (possibly Lennon). The sponsors were Jams Beaky and Rose Butler. Hope the above helps and would love to hear from you on your opinion of a connection. I know Dunlavin is app. 54 km form Avoca, but you never know. Kind regards Pauline Hall -----Original Message----- From: irl-wicklow-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:irl-wicklow-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of colette o rorke Sent: Friday, 15 July 2011 2:47 AM To: irl-wicklow@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [IRL-WICKLOW] Crehelp, near Dunlavin Hi On the IFHF site (pay) there is 1 match for Simon Doyle with father James in the Dunlavin area of Wicklow (don't know the year). 3. I have ancestors from Dunlavin as well. I contacted the RC church in Dunlavin at one stage, but unfortunately there was no record of the family I was searching for (McEvoy). I can't find the contact address I used, but found this online just now. Not sure if it is current or not, but here it is dunlavinparish@gmail.com Good luck with your search. Another person I have had contact with re the Dunlavin area is a man named Chris Lawlor. He has his own blog - http://dunlavin.blogspot.com/ He's very knowledgeable about the area. Kind Regards & good luck!!
