Hello listers I have found a photo of my uncle taken somewhere in Co Wicklow in 1945. He and my Dad, his brother, were on leave after the war. They took a ferry from England where both had been stationed, and had a holiday in Dublin. One day they took a bus to Co Wicklow, knowing only that was where the family had originated. Neither could remember where the bus ended up. Three generations earlier, the family emigrated during the famine from Coolross near Shillelagh but in 1945 they knew only the county. It was almost 100 years later but our connection to Ireland was very strong. Is there SKS who knows of anywhere I might send a digital image on the wild chance that somebody could identify the place in this picture? It was through this list that I found our original home place to be Coolross. Who knows, good fortune may strike again. Ann Burns Ottawa, ON Canada
