[Cara - OCCUPATIONS MINERS TO BISHOPS 3] John Revell born 1655 England and who died 20/4/1740 Ballymoney Parish of Dunganstown Co Wicklow Ireland married a Ruth Unknown, Ruth died before 1740. No marriage located ( because I have not tried to find one) they did have Elizabeth c1703 in Co Wicklow and a John Revell Jnr c 1706 born in Co Wicklow he died 8th August 1757 Parish of Dunganstown Co Wicklow Ireland ( which would then put him at Ballymoney) John then married a girl called Frizwood, being Church of Ireland this may be a clue in as much it may be a surname she has as a christian name. John born 1706 died 8th August 1757 Frizwood born c 1711 died 21/5/1770 4 known children in my data base Elizabeth c 1740 Another John 1744 born Ballymoney Parish of Dunganstown and she died 26/11/1804 at Seapark also in the nearby area of Ballymoney Parish of Dunganstown Co Wicklow Jane 1745 and a William born 1749 Ballymoney Parish of Dunganstown died 8/12/1788 at Ardoyne Co Wicklow Ireland John born 1744 married a Jane Bryan, Jane was born c1749 at Ballynapark Dunganstown Co Wicklow and died 20/12/1824 at Ballymoney Dunganstown Co Wicklow Ireland Her husband John died Seapark Parish of Dunganstown Co Wicklow Ireland 26/11/1804. They married in the Dunganstown Church May 1771 Jane Revell born 1745 married a Thomas Braddell and William Revell born 1749 married Alice Bradell and I suspect that Thomas and Alice were brother and sister. Now that coveres to a degree the Ballymoney notes I have BUT I note that a James Revell born 22/1/1803 married Ellenor Brass and they have a son named Aris Revell who went off to America from the same family I also have a Sidney Elizabeth Revel c 1836 who died 18/12/1865 in Newbury Iowa America and from same Family William Revel born 7/11/1842 in Co Wicklow died 7/5/1924 Los Angeles California USA. There has been found 10 children for this family so far. Sidney married a man of Rhames on 13/4/1852 in Wisconsin in America This being a work in progress, of course there may be mistakes, I am human, and of course all details and sources has not been added to this works, it was just me adding in some interest to the mails we are getting on list. I do have the parish registers, of Dunganstown and can further the headstone cause on the Revell/Revil name, but I can only type as fast as my old fingers will allow me to these days, and if anyone has arthritis they will understand my reasonings. Cheers for now feel free to add to this anytime you may desires Cara
Hi Revell Clements died about 1890 and on 27th June 1890 an ad in the Irish Times said there was to be an executors sale of the farm and livestock and machinery at Coolawinna. The sale was on Monday June 30th. Probate of his will was on 5th July 1890, the executors being Richard Vape Cowl and George Mathew Saunders. On June 8th 1901 a J. Clements was selling his rights in a farm at Coolawinna in the Irish Times. One of these farms was purchased by John Valentine and on Dec 3rd 1902 a Thomas King seriuosly attacked a James Murphy of Rathnew and King then went towards Coolawinna where he had worked as a labourer and he was found hiding in a stable of Mr Valentines. (Mr Murphy was not expected to survive) On August 5th 1908 a report in the Irish Times tells us that a fatal shooting happened in Coolawinna. John Wilkinson from High St Wicklow was found by his brother George. They heard the deceased's dog barking and went in thet direction to Clements Corner, there they found the body near his boat and his gun in the bottom of the boat, discharged. The coroner found it to be an accidental shooting. Dr James H Halpin of the Wicklow dispensary gave evidence about how he had died. Coolawinna has been written as Coolawinnia sometimes And lastly in Nov 2002 a Revell Clements was engaged to Samantha Wilson. He is the son of Sarah and the late William Clements of Rathnew. Brendan
