I don’t really know much more about him but he could come from Arklow or Dublin and could have a brother, Francis. A lot of possibles but I would really love to find him as he is my great grandfather. Cheers Gerard Redmond

    2. Sara b Carroll
    3. Hi,   My great grandmother was Mary Elizabeth Baker born on 28 April 1874 in Newbridge(Avoca) Wicklow.  She was the daughter of James Baker and Charlotte Forrester.  Although she was born in Newbridge her father listed their address as Clontarf, Dublin.  She had a sister named Mary. Mary Elizabeth married my great grandfather, George Wilkinson of Wicklow Town, on 7 September 1903.  Her address was listed as Mt Norris Villas, Bray.... Mary was COI....I haven't able to get any info on the Bakers and the Forresters before Mary was born....I have hit a brick wall... Sara C.

    3. I'm still looking for the early years of Joseph Holt, a bricklayer, born about 1796 Ireland and his wife Mary Murphy (b about 1801). They moved to Liverpool about 1826 with their daughter Letitia Holt (b about 1826). Further children were Jane Holt (b 1827 possibly Ashton under Lyne, Lancashire), Mary Holt (1828 Liverpool), Joshua Holt (b 1830 Liverpool) and Thomas Joshua Holt (b 1834 Liverpool). I'm not sure which area of Ireland Joseph was born but this family has earlier links to Byrne, Curran and Lackey families. Regards Carole

    2. Brendan Dixon
    3. Denis I see a wedding on familysearch.org for a Jane Gaskin in 1872 in district of Rathdrum in the BMD index, volume 12 page 848. In the separate Marriage index there is a Mary Gaskin marrying a Peter Cosgrave on 16th Aug 1868 in Ashford (very close to Kiloughter) Fathers Christopher Gaskin and James Cosgrave, this seems to appear in BMD as 1867 vol 12 page 843. In the 1911 census there is Christopher Gaskin (age 42) and his brothers (and Mother aged 77) , all carpenters and he a builder, all born in Co Wicklow. In 1901 cenus Christopher aged 32 with brothers all carpenters and aunt Katherine Leonard. Perhaps a son or grandson? In the Familysearch BMD there appear to be 2 Christopher Gaskin that die in 1888 (born about 1821) and 1874 (born about 1790) that seem to fit your Chrsitopher. He doesn't seem to appear in Griffiths valuation in the 1850s. Both deaths are Dublin South but they may be worth getting to see are there connections. You can order them online at http://www.groireland.ie/. Rootsireland have 2 Christophers born in 1805 and 1810 in Wicklow, 2 marraiges 1844 and 1861 in Wicklow and 2 burials that match in 1873 and 1888. 3. Joyce Yes I could add to all the accolades . You have great skill and have told many about your work of recording headstones . Will try & do a few in the mountainy area of Wicklow where I come from & if you would like to come along for the drive some time remind me of my undertaking - when the weather is good. By the way - would like to visit Dorothy (Pemberton) sometime and do some reminicing - she was a friend of my sister Sylvia (Brickenden) who is Cratloe House Co Clare. My case today was not reached -we were to go on in the morning but Judge took another case that lasted all day and we sat through in hope it would finish early . so we are back in February. Meantime , defendants are getting jittery; appear they have indicated they want to settleso thats a good sign . 3. Many thanks to Cara and Pam for their nice comments re my work for the Headstone Project on IGP Archives. It is always good to hear from others who have found the project useful, and I need hardly say, that help is always needed. There is so much to do, so if you have even one photo to add do send it in to Christina Hunt who does such a wonderful job. I have her to "blame" for getting me involved, but no complaints, as I thoroughly enjoy the hobby. Also if there is anyone living in Co.Wicklow or on the borders of the county who would be willing to take a few photos in their local cemetery and send them in, that would be just great. I am more than happy to help you get started etc. I keep copies of my original photos (high resolution) so do ask if you find a family headstone and would like a better quality photo. All photos are reduced in size for the Website. Thanks again Joyce > > Congratulations to Joyce Tunstead, for her wonderful contributions to the > IGP headstone site, and I am sure if you desire any of those photos Joyce > would be more than thrilled to send them on to you along with her friend > Yvonne, they have created a lasting worthy contribution to headstones of > Ireland. >

Today from all that flying around the globe, with modern emails, I have been able to send back to Lister No 2 a photo that No1 had taken and tell him that he will now be able to tell the people in IRELAND where their family are buried and yes they do have a headstone, that has been lovingly made by the family in their memory. I wanted to thank Lister No 1 and let him know that the photos are still being sent out to those who request them, as some of these graveyards we have photographed are a wee bit remote, and hard to get to.
