    1. lost favorites - THANK YOU
    2. Thanks loads, everyone. The response to my request for good websites was AMAZING!! To repay everyone for being so kind, I will send weekly emails with these websites. I hope everyone can find some good sites they have never seen. I loaded almost all of the websites received. There may be some duplications; forgive me if that occurs. I cannot vouch for any of the websites - I am just sending what I received. I tried almost all of the addresses and they are still active. I will entitle each email as "More websites". Anyone who does not want them can just delete the email. I will send about 10 websites in each email until I reach the end of the address list. I have received so many emails requesting the websites, that sending the emails to the entire list is the only practical way I see to handle this. This project was wonderful, very confusing, and 2 full days of reading, copying, organizing, etc. Because this email is long, I will send the first website list later today. Thanks again. Maureen N

    1. researcher in Wicklow area
    2. Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced researcher in Wicklow? I did work with someone in Canada who had someone in the UK looking into my research but it was quite expensive. I know that William Roe was contacted in Wicklow and he had no definitive ideas for us. I am looking for the family of John Roe married to Mary Ann Keeley before 1840. This family, with 3 sons and 2 daughters left for Canada about 1860. Mary Ann had two sisters, Bridget and Julia, who left about 1850 for the US. John farmed the rest of his life in Canada so I suspect that he was a farmer in Ireland. Family lore is this family was from Enniskerry. But, I found that one son, John, said on his marriage registration that he was born in Wexford. The two counties are next to each other so I guess they could have lived somewhere near the border. 1. John Kennedy marriage record - Powerscourt
    2. musso1
    3. My g-g-g grandfather is John Kennedy of Powerscourt. He was born around 1787, married around 1812, and emigrated to North America with his large family around 1835. I've found quite a bit of information on him from American records, and am now beginning to educate myself about records that might be available in Ireland. I'd like to start out with something simple, like a marriage record. He marries a Margaret or Mary McGrath/McGraw sometime around 1812, presumably in Powerscourt. Can somebody point me in the right direction, just to get started. I don't have plans to visit Ireland anytime soon (I live in the Chicago area), so is there any Irish records research I can do on my own from the U.S.? Or must I solicit the help of somebody else? (While searching the List archives, I noticed some very negative comments about the Wicklow Family Centre.) Jim

    1. lost websites - help!
    2. Hi all, I have been offline for several days due to a software load gone bad. The worst part of it was that I lost ALL of my Favorites (website address storage). I had maybe 100 great geneology and Irish geneology websites stored, many of which I can't begin to remember; I am devastated (And - I have learned a very good lesson about backing up). Would anyone who knows of some really good website addresses mind emailing me off list with those addresses? I would really appreciate it. Thanks loads everyone. Maureen N

    3. It is my understanding that Sinnett, Sinnott, Synnott may all be related going way back to Strongbow.... My Grandfather was Henry Synnott and his father was William Synnott and mother Rose (Roanna) Mulligan. Henry was born in 1856 but I have been unable to find records. It was either in Dublin area or possibly Scotland. He may of had a brother Abraham born 1866 in Finglass Parish, Dublin. Henry came to US around 1880 and settled in nothern Illinois. Don't know if we can connect, but I thought I would reply just in case.
