Paul: I think your characterization of Cyril is insulting, even with your little :), and way out of line for someone who has been so helpful to all of us foreigners looking for help from our UK friends. Remember " To err is Human" and to acknowledge doing so is humble. I personally find his posts very helpful with a distinct charming bent. Trying to place and date my 4th g-grandmother ANNE MORAN. She was b.unknown - guess around 1786 m. James Kehoe 25/11/1804, Wicklow town. Best Man; James Lacy. Bridesmaid; Elizabeth Byrne. d.1864 and is buried in the old graveyard at Threemilewater, co.Wicklow. Children : Helen b.1805 Sponsors: Thomas Fox and Brigid Murray Philip b.1807 " Tim Doyle and Ann Doyle James b.1811 " Thomas Tindall and Bridget Moran Peter b.1821 " James Conway and Mary Flanagan Andrew abt.1826 (my line) Thomas b.1827 I was told that my Kehoe (RC) family moved from co.Wexford to co.Wicklow (tenant farmers) Brittas Bay area and hence - due to rent arrears, possibly around time of '98 troubles - to nearer Wicklow town, Ballyguile/Dunbur, which would explain the family burial plot at Threemilewater. Any help with the MORAN connection would be greatly appreciated. Frank Kehoe Derbyshire, England

Paul, Gordon & Cara I exchanged letters with Tony Valentine many years ago and believe I am a descendant of the Valentine's of Donard. The Rebecca Valentine who married George Harbourne I believe to be the third daughter of James Valentine and his second wife Bridget Byrne. I am connected through the children of James first wife Ann Feris. This was not the last connection between these two families as a later Valentine, Elizabeth Hannah (born c.1803) married a James Harbourne in c.1826. Elizabeth was a daughter of Peter Valentine and Ann Allen. The Australian connection began with the arrival in 1852 of Thomas Allen Valentine and his wife Harriet (nee Wilson) at Adelaide South Australia. I suspect there are many descendants of the Valentine family to be found in the old dominions of Canada, New Zealand and Australia. I'm hoping to meet her tomorrow Jan up in Wicklow around Blessington or somewhere? I'm taking my crash helmet and a Hurley just in case we meet up! Lol... (Fiery wild Aussie Shiela's I can do without!) If I hear an Aussie voice I'll be up near the exit fast! Mind you I might be able to console her with Ice Cream (won't I?). A Shame Peggy isn't over, she could habve gotten between us until the spitting is over. I think she'll be there, as its a discussion on the Preservation of Cemeteries in Co. Wicklow by Duchas the heritage people and I think Wicklow Co.Co. They haven't done much good so far, maybe they are up for telling us why? Probably come up with some excuse about the flora and fauna being of more importance than the preservation of the headstones! "Go Rabbits Go" sort of thing! Lichens and Snails, Slugs and all sorts of Creepy Crawlies rule in these area's of course so they must be protected! You can guess what I'd say to that! slan Cyril Newsome Loch Garman... irl-wicklow@rootsweb.com wrote: > > > > Isn't the list quiet lately, not a word from our Boss for weeks and I for one am missing her sparring with Cyril.
